OUR SERVICES
The Parish offers a range of services in our three churches. Find a service you know you will be comfortable with or look for a service which is new for you and come and join us. Our Church Wardens and sides-people are happy to offer guidance if you are unfamiliar with any of our services.

Festivals!

The Festivals (e.g. Christmas and Easter) will change the normal service pattern, the website will have full details.
Our Festival Services include:

CHRISTMAS
We prepare for Christmas by singing traditional Advent Carols. For families with children each church has a Christingle Service (the service with the orange and the candle in aid of the Children’s Society) and, on Christmas Eve, a Crib Service.

Each Church also holds the popular service of Lessons and Carols and a Midnight Communion Service. There will be various opportunities around the Parish for all the family to celebrate together on Christmas morning.

LENT
We commit ourselves to a holy and disciplined Lent at an Ash Wednesday Communion Service which includes the imposition of ashes.

In March each church celebrates Mothering Sunday.

EASTER
We begin our Easter celebration on Maundy Thursday at Littlewick Green at a communion service where the washing of his disciples’ feet by Jesus is re-enacted. At the end of the service the church is stripped of its decoration and we linger in the soft light of the church to spend time with Jesus in his hours of agony at the Garden of Gethsemane.

On Friday there is an informal interactive Good Friday Family Service in Hurley, bringing out the meaning of the cross to young and old alike, followed by Hot Cross Buns. At a one and a half Meditation in Stubbings we contemplate Jesus’ suffering for us on the cross. Easter itself begins with an Easter Vigil on Saturday evening at Littlewick Green, when we light the paschal candles and renew baptism vows. On Easter morning Jesus’ resurrection is celebrated in all three churches.

AUTUMN
We celebrate the abundance of the natural world and the hard work of our farmers at our Harvest services in each church. Each church also holds a Harvest Lunch/Supper.

At All Saints/All Souls we have a special service, the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed, at which we remember and give thanks for those we love but no longer see.

In November we honour those who gave so much to our country in times of war at the annual Remembrance Day Services.
