There’s so much going on for the younger
members of Burchetts Green Parish...Pebbles For Parents and Toddlers there is ‘Pebbles’ which meets every Tuesday in the Soltau Centre at 10.00am and every Thursday in the Priory Room, Hurley at 10.30am. We begin with a short time of worship including a bible story written for toddlers usually read by one of the Mums followed by some action songs and prayer. The children are familiar with a short prayer which we use every week and also the Lord’s Prayer which we use in the same format as in the Family Services. After the service we have an extended coffee time with plenty of toys for the children to share. The group is friendly and provides fellowship and support for new parents and sometimes grandparents as well. Newcomers are made to feel very welcome even if they are only able to join the group for a short time before going back to work. Check for dates of services. ![]() Do you go? Sunday school and crèche takes place at 10.15am on every second and fourth Sunday in the month at the Soltau Centre, Stubbings. It runs at the same time as a shorter holy communion service in the church. On the First Sunday in the month we hold Family Services at Littlewick Green at 9.15am and Stubbings at 10.15am. On the third Sunday in the month we hold a Family Service at Stubbings at 10.15am. See you there! | All God's gifts around us Today I was thinking about what we could think about in this page. And I must admit it was difficult. But as I sat and thought, I was looking out of the windows at my garden! What a wonderful sight. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the flowers were bursting into colour. Two minutes ago, I hadn't known what to write but this amazing sight gave me inspiration. Try to picture this This month I'd like you to think about all the wonderful things you have around you Why don't you make a list of just 10 things that you are very grateful that God has given to you? Have a look around your garden -close your eyes, what can you hear? Open them again, what can you see? And what is that wonderful smell? How do you feel that the same God, who created all these beautiful things, also created you? Now sit down and draw a picture of some of these wonderful gifts that God has given us all and say thank you as you do it. You could include your prayer in your design. Who has included rain? Recently we've had some wonderful hot, sunny weather but we've also had loads of rain and wind.... Why do you think God sends rain? God sends the rain to water the land and to make things grow. We all need rain - we couldn't live without it! Rain is one of the many ways that God showers us with gifts. Now let us think about those people around the world who aren't as lucky. In Littlewick Green for example, at bedtime recently, there was no water coming out of my tap! So I couldn't make Georgia and Freddie a glass of squash, wash the dishes or even bath Barnaby. We take water for granted don't we but imagine living in a country where water is extremely scarce. Where there is very little rain fall, vegetables don't grow and animals die, life is very difficult and very different. So when you are outside again or it is raining don't take it all for granted and thank God for making you so lucky. Emma Hodgetts What is it? You can drink it, swim in it, cook and wash up in it, Fish can breathe in it - what can it be? It's water! God provides us with water! The water of life. Toddlers' social scene Don't forget the opportunity for mothers to meet others, every Monday from 10 to 11.30am, in Littlewick Green's Gilchrist Hall for the Toddlers' Group. For only £1 a child, drinks and biscuits are available while the children play with the many toys and meet new friends. Phone Michelle Fuller on 822869 for info | |
